Wetlands

  • Case Study 1

Apex provided wetlands delineation, program planning, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) permitting, and mitigation design support for the development of a world class sport shooting facility.  Apex staff performed a soil identification and biological evaluation in concert with an overall delineation of wetlands located on the 93 acre site.  The delineation was necessary to comply with federal requirements under the regulatory jurisdiction of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as directed by Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.  Apex guided the site developers to successfully achieve COE permitting, therefore enabling construction of the law enforcement training facility.

  • Case Study 2

Apex provides technical support and mitigation design planning for a developer client involved in multiple enforcement issues related to the construction of a large residential lake and necessary U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) permitting.  Apex is supporting the negotiation process and developing a suitable mitigation program to include stream restoration and enhancements in the watershed.  Apex regularly partners with developers, engineers and attorneys to minimize costs and maximize environmental attributes.

  • Case Study 3

To comply with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) Clean Water Act requirements for a proposed commercial development, we provided our client the technical assistance needed to secure the COE Permit and prepared a draft mitigation plan for  approval.   Working with our client to ensure this project’s success, Apex conducted the technical evaluation and field studies necessary for plan implementation.  Apex returns to this site annually to assess the condition and survival rate of the plan’s replacement trees and prepares reports to the COE.
