Dave Fabianski

Dave Fabianski

Chief Executive Officer

Dave is widely-regarded for his authentic, inspirational leadership style and his achievements leading strategic growth, business transformation, and organizational success. As CEO, Dave blends strategic vision with a pragmatic, disciplined approach to business execution, an unwavering focus on customer excellence, and a commitment to maintaining a healthy culture and a talented, vibrant, and engaged workforce. Prior to Apex, Dave served as President of Rite-Solutions, Inc. and Senior Vice President & General Manager at Vangent, Inc. He holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a BS in Workforce Development and Education from Southern Illinois University. He also served honorably for 10 years with the US Naval Submarine Force and continues his affiliation with the armed forces as a member of the Veteran Mentor Network and Homes For Our Troops. In his free time, Dave enjoys volunteering with USA Hockey, supporting Autism Speaks, and spending time with his wife and three children.

Chris Mitchell

Chris Mitchell

Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Focused on leading operational excellence and supporting strategic growth, Chris advances the company’s mission by implementing strategies, practices, and programs that further position Apex for sustainable success. He also oversees our health & safety strategy and the development and retention of our talent base. Previously Chris served at AECOM for nearly 30 years, most recently as the Director of Operations for the Northeast region. A Certified Professional Geologist, his environmental consulting expertise spans investigation, remediation, compliance, water quality, natural resource management, and capital permitting. He holds a master’s degree in Geology from UMass Amherst and an MBA from City University of London through Ashridge Management School. He currently serves on the Society of American Military Engineers Boston Post and Environmental Business Council Boards of Directors and the University of Massachusetts Scientific Advisory Board. A typical weekend could include spending time with his wife and two daughters; serving a shift on the ambulance service; teaching skiing to patrollers; or riding a bike, a horse or just about anything on the water.

Brian Burke

Chief Financial Officer

Brian brings over 30 years of financial management experience spanning risk management, financial reporting, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions—expertise he uses to help Apex strengthen its traction in the marketplace. Before joining Apex, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for Archway Marketing Services. Prior to that, he served as the Vice President of Corporate Development for Snyder Communications where he led the due diligence and negotiations for myriad complex transactions. Brian began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen where he earned his CPA designation. He holds a BS degree from Virginia Tech and when he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his teenage son and daughter.

Chief Talent Officer

Since joining Apex in 1989, Carolyn has advanced from various leadership roles within human resources to her current position as Chief Talent Officer. She currently leads the vision, strategy, and execution of our talent acquisition, development, and retention, while directing and championing our strategic growth objectives. A certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and President of the Mid Atlantic Environmental Professionals Association, Carolyn received her BS in Business Administration, with a minor in Finance, from the University of Maryland. Outside of work, she can be found target shooting at the archery range, running with her dog, or spending time with her children.

Roger G. Nordlinger

Roger G. Nordlinger

Senior Vice President, Strategic Accounts & Business Development

Roger joined Apex in 2000 as the Director of Business Development and currently leads Apex’s national account programs and business development personnel. With 30 years of experience in the environmental services and engineering fields and an affinity for relationship management, Roger directs our business expansion and corporate strategy. Previously, he spent more than 10 years at Fluor Daniel GTI, subsequently the IT Group, where he transitioned from Division Manager into account development for national and international clientele. He earned his BS degree in Geology in 1985 from West Virginia University and off-hours Roger can be found enjoying the outdoors—mountaineering, on (or in) the water, or playing tennis with friends and family.

Scott Shannon

Scott Shannon

Vice President, National Sales

An experienced sales management professional and registered Professional Engineer, Scott consistently drives significant year-over-year sales growth leading strategy and execution with direct sales and seller-doer teams. He credits this growth to a passion for learning, innovating, and consistently challenging the status quo to create new ways of doing business better. Prior to Apex, he served as Vice President for ARCADIS and as National Accounts Manager for Environmental Systems Corporation. His expertise spans utilities program management and engineering design, coastal resiliency planning, water/wastewater treatment and conveyance, and stormwater management for government, oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining, and power generation clients nationwide. Scott received his BS in Mechanical Engineering and his MEng in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida. Outside of work, Scott enjoys watching his children’s football games, lacrosse tournaments, and dance recitals.
